Wrap-Up and Takeaways

Many of the most groundbreaking technologies of our time (e.g. Deep Learning) require access to huge amounts of data to reach their full potential. Many countries have recognized that the handling and processing of these large data sets depend heavily on the agile innovation engines of our economies - the startups. Europe, in particular, has created an early link between Big Data and startups by launching state-funded incubation programs such as the European Data Incubator (EDI) years ago. Now, it’s time to talk about the future of Big Data in Europe and the role of European startups.
How to shape a European Data Economy?
Join us for our digital event on “The Future of Data Startups in Europe”. We welcome one of the most renowned AI and Big Data experts in Europe, Fabian Westerheide, and have the top eight European Data Incubator #EDI Big Data Startups pitching the data solutions they have developed throughout their eight-month-long incubation.
The European Data Incubator (EDI) is an incubation programme by the EU Commission, which assists European big data start-ups and SMEs in realizing their innovative ideas. Participants receive, among other things, access to equity-free financing, corporate data sets and mentoring from accomplished practitioners.
It has just finished its second incubation batch and will soon proceed to its third and final call for startups. Before that, however, the startups from the previous round will showcase themselves and their learnings in the digital event “The Future of Data Startups in Europe”.
